Analysis and prognosis of the RAMS – parameters as well as the implementation of a hazard analysis and of proofs of safety are required from operators in the course of a tender. The target values of the producers of complete systems are passed on from these to the suppliers of subsystems and from these to the producers of components. They have to be verified in regard to all systems.

Preventive and corrective maintenance plans are developed on the basis of the required measures’ contents and frequency stemming from the RAMS-analysis and prognosis as well.

Another task within the framework of system engineering is the management of the unavailability of components caused by technological change, obsolescence management with preventive, condition-based, corrective and renewing measures.
